South African paceman Allan Donald, the White Lightning from
Bloemfontein, offers some words of encouragement for aspiring quicks
in this face to face interview. The 33 year old Donald, now on a
sabbatical from the international game in his benefit season with
Warwickshire, talks about the goals he sets for himself in every match
and series, the dubious practices of gamesmanship and sledging that
have crept into the modern game, and his own duels with foes like Mike
Atherton and Mark Taylor, two of the most slippery customers he has
squared up against. Here is an insight into the mind of a champion
fast bowler.
