Lucy Pearson wins first Vodafone Female Player of the Year (Wed 20 Sep 2000)
 
England strike bowler, Lucy Pearson, was last night named the Vodafone Female Player 
of the Year at the 2000 PCA Awards Dinner, staged at the Albert Hall. This prestigious 
annual awards ceremony, which was attended by over 1000 people and televised on Sky 
Sports, saw Pearson collect the first ever Player of the Year award for a female

England 'A' Squad to tour the West Indies (Mon 18 Sep 2000)
 
The England and Wales Cricket Board today announced its squad for the England 'A' Tour to 
the West Indies. The team, captained by Gloucestershire's Mark Alleyne, will take part 
as one of eight teams in the West Indies four-day domestic First Class competition, the 
Busta Cup, in January and February 2001.

England Under 19 squad to tour India (Mon 18 Sep 2000)
 
The England and Wales Cricket Board has announced the England Under 19 squad for the 
tour to India this winter. The six-week tour begins on Wednesday 27 December and finishes

Hoggard replaces Mullally in England One-day Squad (Mon 18 Sep 2000)
 
The England and Wales Cricket Board today announced that Yorkshire's Matthew 
Hoggard will replace the injured Alan Mullally in England's One-Day International

Women's Cricket Domestic Cup Finals hit by Fuel Crisis (Thu 14 Sep 2000)
 
The Knockout Cup Final between women’s club teams Redoubtables LCC (Surrey) and 
Gunnersbury LCC (Middlesex) due to take place at Sheffield CC this Saturday 
(16th September) has been moved to Horsely and Send Cricket Club due to the

Samit Patel wins TMS Young Cricketer of the Year Award (Fri 1 Sep 2000)
 
Samit Patel has won the inaugural BBC Test Match Special Under 15 Young Cricketer of the 
Year Award.  He was voted for the prize by a panel of judges which comprised of Paul 
Farbrace (England Under 15 Team Coach), John Weitzel (England Under 15 Team Manager), 
Hugh Morris (ECB Technical Director) and Ken Lake (General Secretary of the England

Scarborough pitch rated 'poor' (Fri 1 Sep 2000)
 
A pitch panel, comprising of Mike Denness and Alan Fordham, met in Scarborough yesterday 
to discuss the pitch currently in use in the PPP healthcare County Championship match 
between Yorkshire CCC and Surrey CCC. The pitch was rated as 'poor' and the penalty of 
an eight point reduction has therefore been imposed on Yorkshire CCC.
