Women's Cricket Domestic Cup Finals hit by Fuel Crisis
ECB Media Release - 14 September 2000

The Knockout Cup Final between women’s club teams Redoubtables LCC (Surrey) and Gunnersbury LCC (Middlesex) due to take place at Sheffield CC this Saturday (16th September) has been moved to Horsely and Send Cricket Club due to the fuel shortage. The ECB are delighted that Horsley and Send, the Surrey club, have been able to make necessary arrangements to host the final. The match will start at 1pm and entry is free.

The Plate Final between Brighton & Hove LCC and Hambledon LCC will not take place at Sheffield CC this Saturday. The ECB are currently trying to secure an alternative venue, but it has been confirmed that the teams will be unable to travel to Sheffield. Updated information will be provided through the day on the ECB website.

The Under-19s County Final between Sussex and Staffordshire, due to take place at Worksop College on Sunday 17th September has been cancelled until further notice. It has not been possible to organise an alternative venue for this match.

The Under-15s County Final between Kent and Nottinghamshire, which was also due to take place on Sunday at Worksop College might still go ahead if the teams are able to travel. Updated information will be provided throughout the day on the ECB website.

For further information, please visit the ECB website at www.ecb.co.uk or contact the Corporate Affairs Department on 020 7432 1272.
