To understand our audience better, we continually collect information
on our users and their
backgrounds through a voluntary registration process on our site.
Registration is free and open
to all and the information collected is strictly confidential - only
consolidated statistics
are made available. Only registered users are allowed access to
certain select sections of the
site including polls, competitions, surveys etc.
Demographic data is always current
Registrations continue to pour in every day and we strive to keep our
register current at all times. All registrations over a year old are automatically deleted from the register and the user is asked to re-register to keep the information current.
The number of currently registered users is 62,000 and growing every
month. The demographics of our audience based on our registration data
is presented below.
Our Global audience by country of residence
21% of CricInfo's global audience is resident in India and this number
has been increasing by around one percentage point a month for the past
four months. This is indicative of the fact that the Indian audience is
growing exponentially with the explosion of Internet access in
India and the penetration beyond the major cities to the minor towns
too.
Our Global audience by country of origin
48% of CricInfo's global audience comprises Indians! Indians follow
cricket very passionately which ever part of the world they are in and
just by sheer numbers form the majority of the cricket followers around
the world. CricInfo is the ideal medium to reach out to Indians
all around the world.

44% of users of Indian origin reside in India and another 36% reside
in North America - in
other words, the largest segment of users of Indian origin are based
in India and this segment
is growing faster than any other segment of our users of Indian
origin.
