More recently, Ajay Ratra led the Indian Under-19 side to victory in the Tests and One-Dayers against the visiting England side. With impressive credentials at the junior level and a sharp eye, Ratra is a good prospect for the future. Opinion is divided on whether the young man is ready for the big league as yet. As part of the training camp that preceded the series at home against Australia Ratra would have got a look at the manner in which top pros trained. Once again an India probable, it remains to be seen whether Ratra will get the nod when India leaves for Zimbabwe.
