Andy Flower, who came in at No 3, was the one man who looked like
he could take the fight to the New Zealanders at this stage. But
after having scored 38 off 61 balls, which included five
delightful boundaries, Flower played the ball gently to mid-off
and set off for an unnecessary run. It was a decision that would
doom him, as an agile Nathan Astle picked up the ball and threw
down the stumps with a direct hit.
