The Zimbabwean top-order batsmen failed to capitalise after their
skipper Heath Streak won a good toss at Bloemfontein on Saturday.
After making a slow start, they allowed themselves to be rocked
by Chris Cairns, making his first serious bowling contribution in
the tournament. The star New Zealand all-rounder claimed two
wickets in his only spell - snaring the dangerous Craig Wishart
with a leg-cutter before benefiting from an unnecessary error by
Guy Whittall - as the Zimbabweans were left reeling at 65/4 in
the 17th over.
