Kenyan batting at Newlands was more or less a one man show; Otieno made 79 runs off 134 balls, hitting half a dozen boundaries and two sixes. It was Harbhajan Singh who claimed Otieno’s wicket, getting one to turn and knock back the stumps. Maurice Odumbe showed his experience and finished strongly to make an unbeaten 34. Srinath and Harbhajan Singh picked up two wickets each. Even though he went wicket-less, Ashish Nehra was the pick of the Indian bowlers. Kenya made 225/6 in their allotted 50 overs.
