The Indian run chase was a disaster to start with. Virender Sehwag (3) was caught at second slip by Steve Tikolo, edging a beautiful outswinger from Thomas Odoyo. Soon Sachin Tendulkar (5) departed, much to the joy of the Kenyan team. His dismissal was a family affair, brilliantly caught by Tony Suji at square leg off the bowling of Martin Suji. Mohd Kaif, batting at number four, was unlucky to be given out leg before the wicket. India were in deep trouble at that stage – 24/3.
