The third wicket partnership between Kennedy Otieno and Thomas Odoyo added 76 valuable runs. Odoyo made a polished 32 before being trapped lbw by Dinesh Mongia. The scoring rate really suffered, with the ball coming on to the bat slowly. Kenyan batsmen batted through the middle overs safely, and with all the dropped catches, there was no much joy for the Indian bowlers. Otieno was adventurous enough to smack two huge sixes, but then the Kenyan batting lacked the depth of a good international side.
