Ricky century takes India into Youth World Cup finals
The Semi Final of the Youth World Cup saw India take on Australia at
the Saravanamuttu Stadium at Colombo. Big matches often separate the
men from the boys. This match certainly brought out the best in
Ravneet Ricky. On winning the toss, Indian captain Mohammed Kaif
immediately elected to bat first. The way his openers had been
playing, he certainly would have been confident of getting a good
start. As it turned out, that was exactly what happened. [More]
Ricky sets up victory platform
The Indian Under-19 team took on defending champions England at the
Colombo Cricket Ground on the 20th of January 1999. The wicket at the
Colombo Cricket Ground was on the slower side. The ball did not come
on to the bat fluently and strokeplay was hardly the order of the day.
India won the toss and predictably stuck England in to bat. The
English batsmen lost wickets at regular intervals and at no point
looked like they would post a challenging total. The Indian
mediumpacers and spinners alike did an admirable job and England were
restricted to 182/9 in their allotted 50 overs. [More]

visitors to 117 all out. Having dismissed Hyderabad so cheaply, it was
important that Punjab put together a good batting performance and
secure a first innings lead. [More]
