Nandakishore steers Hyderabad to a draw 30 December 1999
Hyderabad held Tamil Nadu to a draw by batting through the final day of their South Zone Ranji Trophy league match at the MA Chidambaram stadium on Thursday. Hyderabad were chiefly indebted to A Nandakishore. The opening batsman batted 443 minutes and faced 301 balls and hit 13 fours in compiling 135. He was sixth out at 295. His third wicket partnership of 123 runs with skipper Md Azharuddin (69) played a leading role in Hyderabad drawing the game. Azharuddin faced 94 balls and hit nine fours. Nandakishore and MF Ahmed (51 off 146 balls with nine fours) ensured that Hyderabad would hold out for a draw with a sixth wicket stand of 61 runs off 18.3 overs. Hyderabad, who had followed on after falling 199 runs behind on the first innings, ended at 338 for eight. Aashish Kapoor who took four wickets in the first innings, again bagged four wickets for 97 runs. Tamil Nadu got five points and Hyderabad three. © CricInfo
