(Willowmoore Park, Benoni 2nd ODI - 07 Oct 2001)
A target of 160 was never going to be a challenge for the experienced Proteas. Gary Kirsten, who scored an match-winning knock of an unbeaten 133 against India, was on fire against the Kenyans. He struck four boundaries to race to 17 but was bowled by Thomas Odoyo. Gibbs too was in splendid form, bringing up the South African 50 in the ninth over with an extraordinary slap high over point for six off Peter Ogondo. With the score on 52, however, Gibbs (20) lost his wicket in unusual and confusing circumstances, a delivery from Odoyo seeming to come off his hip and the back of his bat before looping high into the slips.
