(3rd Test: India v England at Bangalore, 19-23 Dec 2001)
Sachin Tendulkar cut loose after Virender Sehwag, riding his good fortune, showed his class by smacking the bowlers to the fence. Sehwag showed his senior the way to defy Ashley Giles' bowling by using the feet and hitting the ball through the onside field for boundaries. Tendulkar looked good for his 28th Test hundred, but he perished after making 90 runs off 198 balls with the help of 13 boundaries. Going for a heave off the bowling of Giles, Tendulkar was beaten in the flight and stumped neatly by James Foster; the little master was thus dismissed stumped for the first time in his Test career. Sehwag (66) finally edged an outswinger from Matthew Hoggard to the keeper, and India's resistance was all but over.
