A big hello and a warm welcome to Cricinfo's live coverage of the
4th ODI between India and South Africa.
From Chennai now we move to Eden Gardens, Kolkata, the biggest
stadium in India, for the penultimate match of the series.
My name is Sajan Nair - glad you could join us.
South Africa started off with an emphatic win in the first match
but then India came back strongly in the second match to draw the
series 1-1,
the third ODI at Chennai was abandoned without a ball being bowled
and with just two more matches to go including this one the series
is nicely set up.
It's a classic all-to-play-for situation with today's winner
guaranteed not to lose the series.
Tendulkar is all set to become the most-capped player in ODI
history when he takes the field today, he surpasses another all
time great Wasim Akram who has played 356 ODIs.
Graeme Smith has won the toss and elected to field first.
There is a tinge of grass on the pitch and Smith at the toss
indicated that he was looking to take advantage of that by bowling
first.

Hall struggled throughout the innings but for few healthy strokes,

Eden Gardens - what an achievement!
