Jagged Internetworks, CricInfo and RBN have teamed up with
World Tel once again, to bring you multimedia coverage of the
Singer Akai Nidahas Trophy one-day cricket tournament.
Coverage is provided with thanks to USSB/Kelly Broadcasting Systems.
"Nidahas" is a Sinhalese word meaning "Independence".
To commemorate 50 years of Sri Lankan independence, and 50 years
of existence of the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka, India and
New Zealand have been invited to compete with Sri Lanka in this tournament.
Each team plays each other three times to qualify for the final on 7 July.
This will be the first One-Day International tournament to use the new
Test ground at Galle, bringing the excitement of world class one-day
cricket to provincial Sri Lanka. Other matches, including the final, will
be day-night games under floodlights at R. Premadasa Stadium, or day games
at the SSC Ground, both in Colombo.
See CricInfo's Tournament Home Page for team details, live scorecards, standings, reports from the day's play and more.
If this is your first encounter with cricket, CricInfo provides numerous explanations.
