Note: East & Central
Africa consists of: Malawi, Tanzania and Zambia (and Uganda until 1998, and Kenya
until 1982) West Africa: Gambia, Ghana, Nigeria & Sierra Leone
Sri Lanka won
the trophy in 1979, before gaining Test Status in 1981, and Zimbabwe won it
in 1982, 1986 and 1990, before gaining Test Status in 1992.
There was no third-place
playoff in 1979 and 1990. However, it was re-introduced in 1994, as this was
the first time that the top three sides, rather than just the top one, would
qualify for the subsequent World Cup.

Edd Oliver, Worcestershire, England.
