FOUR MILESTONES WITH A SINGLE KNOCK

A trip down to Emerald Isle reminds me of the haunting Colombo losses - the controversial Test and lowest LOI score of Zimbabwe. Not to forget the poor record of a single LOI win. That was history and Streak was looking forward to 14 September as a special day as he resumed his captaincy and baby Charlotte turned one month old.

But on the field there were several lapses. How could you let the opposition score 288 from being 87/5? To chase it you need Friend as a pinch-hitter. Ebrahim has given enough chances time and again [compare with Wishart]. Carlisle is not a number five player, he should open. But the biggest mistake was to promote Ervine ahead of Streak.

Apart from these forgettable things, there was a memorable performance too - Dougie’s show was completely overshadowed by absolutely awesome Andy Flower. He crafted and finished his way to a century of high quality. He batted for 48 overs and touched four milestones with a single knock - 6000 runs, highest Zim score, highest at Premadasa Stadium and highest in ICC trophy. But unfortunately there was no victory.
