Zaheer Khan has been the biggest thing to happen to the fast
bowling department. The left-arm seamer from Baroda has tolied
away admirably, bowling with a lot of pace. He bowled through
the Test series in Sri Lanka with an injured shin. Perhaps it
was a bad decision not to give the fast bowler enough rest to
recover. The latest story is that he is yet to recover from
the shin injury he sustained in the last Test in Sri Lanka.
BCCI's sports medicine expert Dr Anant Joshi who put Zaheer
through the drills at the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai found
that the left-arm pacer was not yet match fit. Zaheer Khan
will be sorely missed in South Africa where the pitches favour
the fast bowlers.
