Sri Lanka claimed one more wicket with the following ball after Gibbs'
departure. Boeta Dippenaar was trapped leg before the wicket by
Jayasuriya off the first ball of the 30th over, and South Africa were
in all sorts of trouble - 149/5. Skipper Shaun Pollock joined his
deputy Mark Boucher in the middle, and decided to make a match of it.
Runs were hard to come by, and the two senior pros added 63 runs for
the sixth wicket partnership, and put South Africa back on track. Then
the unbelievable thing happened, the third umpire gave Pollock run
out, with the TV images being unclear about whether the bails were off
the stumps as Pollock scampered home. There was enough doubt in it,
but the rub of the green went Sri Lanka's way.
