Ponting made 38 before he got out caught and bowled to leg
spinner Brian Murphy, and then Martyn was joined in the middle by
Darren Lehmann - trying to prove a few things with the bat than
his words. Martyn went on to compile a sedate 50* and Lehmann
struck the winnings runs to finish on 56* off just 48 balls.
Australia won the match by seven wickets with 15 balls to spare.
One must congratulate Australia to have flown in to Bulawayo to
play the match, in spite of all the political wrangling that has
been going on and on. The festive atmosphere at the ground
genuinely surprised Ponting and his mates, with the Australian
fans mixing well with the local fans. For once, the game of
cricket was a winner at Bulawayo.
