With the Zimbabwean defeat a foregone conclusion, the match was heading towards a dull end when Heath Streak decided to light up the night with an exhibition of power hitting. On his way to an unbeaten 50, the Zimbabwean skipper smashed three fours and two sixes. The innings, however, provided little consolation for Streak on a day that saw England emerge winners by 108 runs. Trescothick, who had at last made an ODI hundred in a winning cause, was named Man of the Match.
