Almost all the New Zealand bowlers struggled on the day, smashed as they were all around the park by the marauding Australian batsmen. Daryl Tuffey (seen in pic with Ponting) proved the most expensive conceding 55 runs in his six overs. Daniel Vettori, who bowled a miserly 10-over spell, was the only one whose pride remained untarnished; the left-arm spinner conceded just 25 runs while also claiming the wicket of Matthew Hayden.
