The poster wasn't far wrong - at least on Thursday. Flaying the Pakistani attack in his inimitable fashion, Sanath Jayasuriya - originally doubtful for the tournament due to a shoulder injury - played the quintessential captain's innings. The first 15 overs, of course, were slam-bang action, and although he didn't hit any sixes, Jayasuriya pummelled the Pakistani fast men to the boundary plenty of times.
