Bangladesh v England 2000-01
Wisden CricInfo staff - October 12, 2002

At Gymkhana, Nairobi, October 5. England won by eight wickets. Toss: Bangladesh.
Initially disappointed to have conceded 232 to these international novices, England were reassured when Hussain, their captain, put in some much-needed batting practice. Coming into the game with 162 runs from his last 18 international innings, Hussain scored a career-best 95, striking five sixes and nine fours, before chipping a simple catch back to Mohammad Rafiq. He put on 175 with Stewart, whose unbeaten 87 won him his third match award in four games. Earlier, England had put down six chances to let Bangladesh escape from 96 for four. Opener Javed Omar, who had retired hurt when Caddick hit him on the right index finger, was patched up and returned to bat out the overs, completing his second international half-century. Eddie Barlow, Bangladesh coach until his stroke in April, watched from a wheelchair.
Man of the Match: A. J. Stewart.
