New Zealand v Pakistan, 2000-01 Wisden CricInfo staff - October 9, 2002
At Sharjah, April 15 (day/night). Pakistan won by seven wickets. Toss: New Zealand. International debut: K. D. Mills.
Pakistan completed the qualifiers with a 100 per cent record. They crushed New Zealand in a curious match lasting barely half its scheduled length; only four of the 16 who batted reached double figures. Nevin was the first, hitting a dashing fifty from 40 balls, but became Abdur Razzaq's third victim in the 12th over. New Zealand never recovered, and Saqlain Mushtaq wrapped up the innings with four wickets. Pakistan also made a shaky start, losing their top three even more cheaply. But by then Inzamam-ul-Haq was at the crease. He struck two sixes off the spinners and, with 12 fours as well in his 85 from 67 balls, saw Pakistan home in their 26th over.
