West Indies v South Africa, 2000-01
Wisden CricInfo staff - October 9, 2002

At St Vincent, May 16. West Indies won by six wickets. Toss: South Africa. Cuffy's ten economical overs off the reel, bringing him three for 24, helped West Indies to a consolation victory in his first international appearance on his home island. In spite of Kallis's fighting 69, sharp catching and keen ground fielding restricted South Africa to 163 for seven, their third-lowest completed one-day total against West Indies. The loss of Lara and Hooper, both caught by Gibbs at short extra cover off Kemp, caused some flutterings, but Samuels and Chanderpaul put on 62 to see their team home, delighting a crowd that swelled beyond its 8,000 capacity during the day. The winning run came off Rhodes, bowling for the first time in one-day internationals on his 200th appearance (a South African record). Pollock received the Cable & Wireless "Bowled Over" Trophy for his team and the Man of the Series award for himself, rewarding his all-round performances in both Tests and one-day internationals.
Man of the Match: C. E. Cuffy. Man of the Series (Tests and one-day internationals): S. M. Pollock.
