West Indies v South Africa, 2000-01
Wisden CricInfo staff - October 9, 2002

At St George's, May 6. South Africa won by eight wickets. Toss: South Africa. A capacity crowd again left disappointed as South Africa reeled off their second resounding victory in back-to-back weekend matches in Grenada. Batting first this time, West Indies mustered only 73 for four by the halfway point. Samuels played with stylish authority for 65 in 71 balls, striking eight fours and adding 67 with Hooper, but he found no other support as Donald worked his way through the line-up. Lara's 25 made him the second West Indian, after Desmond Haynes, to pass 7,000 one-day international runs. Kirsten and Dippenaar, in his first international innings of the tour, effectively determined the result with a second-wicket stand of 96; when Kirsten was out for 72, Rhodes rounded the match off with a flourish.
Man of the Match: A. A. Donald.
