Which is the oldest international fixture, apart from England v Australia? asks Peter Johnston Surprisingly, England v Australia isn't actually the oldest international fixture, although they did play the first Test match, in March 1877. But in 1844, in New York, there was an international between Canada (who made 82 and 63) and the USA (64 and 58). This fixture was played fairly regularly until 1912, and resumed in 1963.
