Karaoke with the Brisbane police
Barmy Army - 19 November 2002
Following the defeat on the 4th day and a few beers at the Gabba hotel. Myself and 3 mates decided to head home via the southbank and we stumbled across a karaoke bar that we had ended up in on the thursday night. So we entered for a singalong only to be confronted by Lt Luke Mair of the Brisbane constabulary. He wished to send his thanks on behalf of the Brisbane police for our conduct during the test saying that our behaviuor and wit was far superior to the Aussies and that most of the coppers wished they had been allowed to join in the songs and dances.
As the night ensued Luke proceeded to dedicate songs to us (his performance a tad better than our swing low sweet chariot, yesterday and delilah), and then finally envited us all back to his flash pad in the suburbs for scran and more beer.
So im just writing in to convey his message of thanks to the army and in return say thanks to Luke and the rest of the Brisbane response unit (as they like to be called) - including the delightful Senior Constable Sammy - from us.
