Breese blows in
Wisden CricInfo staff - May 20, 2002

The West Indies have named newcomer Gareth Breese in their squad of 13 for the first two one-day internationals against India, to be played on Saturday and Sunday. Fast bowler Corey Collymore of Barbados has also been included in the team, the West Indies Cricket Board announced.

Breese and Collymore replaced leg-spinner Dinanath Ramnarine and fast bowler Adam Sanford from the team currently playing the fifth and final Test against the tourists at Sabina Park.

India will play five one-dayers against the hosts after this Test. The third ODI will be held at Bridgetown on May 29 and the last two at Port-of-Spain on June 1 and 2.

The 26-year-old Breese was one of the most successful bowlers in the domestic tournament for the Busta Cup this year, claiming 44 wickets with his off-spin for Jamaica. Collymore, 24, has so far taken 26 wickets in 20 one-day internationals.

West Indies squad Carl Hooper (capt), Brian Lara, Gareth Breese, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Pedro Collins, Cameron Cuffy, Corey Collymore, Mervyn Dillon, Chris Gayle, Ryan Hinds, Wavell Hinds, Ridley Jacobs, Ramnaresh Sarwan.
