"As far as we are concerned there is a procedure in place for dealing with a report by the umpires on a player with a suspect action. We will follow the procedure scrupulously and will co-operate with the ICC fully.

"With regard to selection, the ICC rules permit a bowler who has been reported at stage one of the process to continue playing and we will consider Ruchira Perera for selection for the next Test Match."
Chandra Schaffter, Sri Lanka tour manager

"He's played around the world and has never had this trouble before."
Dav Whatmore, Sri Lanka coach

"The reporting of any bowler at the highest level of the game is a serious matter which has to be handled with fairness and consideration to the player, his team and the opposing team. Both umpires took the opportunity to satisfy themselves fully that there was a concern with Ruchira Perera's bowling action. Their detailed report has been passed to the ICC and the Sri Lankan team management."
Gundappa Viswanath, ICC match referee

"We have got a pretty lengthy procedure. We are looking at reviewing it to make it quicker. It doesn't help the bowler or the opposition really. You don't want the guys with bad actions continuing to play."
Dave Richardson, ICC general cricket manager
