Sussex lose injured Adams for B&H quarter-final
Ralph Dellor - 22 May 2002
Sussex captain Chris Adams suffered a fall while preparing for the Benson and Hedges Cup quarter-final against Warwickshire at Hove. It is reported that he has incurred ligament strains in both his knee and right shoulder and was forced to withdraw from the team.
The absence of Adams will represent a major blow to Sussex. Not only has he proved to be an inspirational captain, leading the county to the Division Two title in the CricInfo Championship last season, but he is averaging 73.66 with the bat in the B&H this season.
His fitness will be reviewed at the end of the week when Sussex play a championship match against Leicestershire at Horsham.
