Ganguly leads in West Indies Wisden CricInfo staff - March 13, 2002
Sourav Ganguly has been reappointed as India's captain for the forthcoming two-month tour of West Indies, as well as for the rest of the one-dayers against Zimbabwe. The decision was a unanimous one by the five-man selection committee, swung by Ganguly's 136 against Zimbabwe in the second Test at Delhi earlier this month, which was his first Test century in two-and-a-half years. He also hit fifties in the first two one-dayers against Zimbabwe, to take his run of consecutive ODI half-centuries to four. The rest of the 16-man squad for the Test series in the West Indies, and the 14-man squad for the final two matches of the current one-day series against Zimbabwe, will be picked later tonight. India depart for the Caribbean on April 1, and are scheduled to play five Tests and five one-dayers.
