James Brinkley announces retirement Durham CCC Media Release - 31 July 2002
Durham player, James Brinkley, has announced his retirement from county cricket. 28 year old James made his Durham debut in 2001 after six years at Worcestershire and three years with Scotland. James teaches PE at Royal Grammar School in Worcester during the winter and plans to concentrate on this permanently. James said: "I wish the Club all the best for the future. I've thoroughly enjoyed my time at Durham, but this year hasn't turned out as I planned and I feel it's time to move forward with my teaching and hopefully resume playing for Scotland." Durham Coach Martyn Moxon said: "James has been a model professional during his time at Durham and we all wish him well for the future." © CricInfo Ltd
