Tomlinson given debut as Indians bring full side to Rose Bowl

Hampshire have given left-arm seamer James Tomlinson his first-class debut, as the Rose Bowl welcomes a full-strength 2002 touring Indians.
Tomlinson comes in for the rested Alan Mullally, while James Hamblin replaces Chris Tremlett. Adrian Aymes, who has missed most of the season through injury, is also recalled as Nic Pothas takes a match off.
Lawrence Prittipaul, in fine form in the second XI following his 170 in the Championship match against Surrey is given a first team opportunity, although Giles White is listed in the squad of 12 and is likely to battle him for the final place.
India, with the First Test against England at Lord's this Thursday in the thoughts, have all their star names on show – including Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and skipper Saurav Ganguly in the batting department and dual spin threat of "The Turbanator" Harbhajan Singh and veteran Anil Kumble.
