India v Zimbabwe 3rd ODI 2000-01
Wisden CricInfo staff - January 1, 2002

At Sharjah, October 22 (day/night). India won by 13 runs.
Toss: Zimbabwe.
India earned their first points through a narrow win. Both teams were 184 for four after 40 overs, but India's later order, especially Dahiya, made better use of the final ten, plundering 81 runs, including 50 from the last four. Dravid batted into the closing stages for 85, after being promoted to open with Tendulkar in Ganguly's place. However, the switch became a one-off when Dravid cracked a finger attempting to catch Campbell off the bowling of Zaheer Khan. Zaheer soon bowled Campbell anyway, along with fellow-opener Marillier, before a 118-run stand between Carlisle and Andy Flower put Zimbabwe in good stead. Earlier, Friend had taken four wickets, including one curious dismissal when umpire Harper called wide – only for his colleague to notice that the ball had dislodged Yuvraj Singh's bail.

Man of the Match: Zaheer Khan.
