Sri Lanka v Zimbabwe 2nd ODI 2000-01
Wisden CricInfo staff - January 1, 2002

At Sharjah, October 21 (day/night). Sri Lanka won by seven wickets.
Toss: Sri Lanka.
International debut: M. A. Vermeulen.
Sri Lanka turned in another winning performance, playing to almost the same script as the previous night: another century from the opposition, a target only one run higher, and an equally comfortable win. Even so, Flower deservedly claimed the match award for his unbeaten 120, turning his side round in a 153-run partnership with Viljoen, who hit three sixes. They had joined forces after 24 overs, at a discouraging 72 for four (Campbell was unavailable, suspended for one game after the ICC Knockout). Jayasuriya and Atapattu shaded Flower and Viljoen by adding 157 for Sri Lanka's second wicket, after Streak had bowled Gunawardene in the first over of their reply. Sangakkara again hit the winning boundary to complete the sense of déjà vu.

Man of the Match: A. Flower.
