Australia v West Indies 2000-2001
Wisden CricInfo staff - January 1, 2002

At Sydney, February 7 (day/night). Australia won by 134 runs.
Toss: West Indies.
Australia went one up with another crushing win – despite scoring their lowest one-day total batting first in this series. Put in, they were a disappointing 179 for six before Harvey entered for the last ten overs and recaptured his Perth form: his career-best 47 not out from 33 balls, with two fours and two sixes, lifted the total to 253. West Indies' chances of beating that plummeted when they lost both openers without a run on the board, although Ganga was unfortunate to be given lbw when replays suggested the ball came off an inside edge. Lara made 35 in 38 balls, but his colleagues offered little more once he was out. Harvey complemented his flamboyant batting with parsimonious bowling, conceding only five runs in six overs for the wickets of Adams and Powell.

Man of the Match: I. J. Harvey.
Attendance: 35,797.
