First past 11,000 runs
Wisden CricInfo staff - January 28, 2002
Sachin Tendulkar passed 11,000 runs in one-day internationals when he reached 48. He is the first batsman to reach this landmark – Mohammad Azharuddin lies second with 9378 runs. This was the 86th time Tendulkar had passed 50 in ODIs, including 31 centuries (another record).
Nick Knight passed 2500 runs in his 69th ODI.
England played Marcus Trescothick as wicketkeeper, only the fourth time in 340 ODIs that they have not included a specialist keeper. John Crawley played one match against Sri Lanka at Sydney in 1998-99, while Graeme Fowler played two against Pakistan, at Lahore and Karachi, in 1983-84.
Darren Gough was playing in his 99th ODI.
