Shadab Kabir
Wisden CricInfo staff - January 9, 2002

Wisden overview
Shadab Kabir had already been a Test cricketer for five years when he made his second coming against Bangladesh in January 2002, at the age of 24. His debut came as a teenager on the England tour of 1996, where he showed nerve and a sound technique, deputising for Aamir Sohail at the top of the order. But at the time he was just one of many talented teenagers competing for berths in the national side. It required just one failure, against Zimbabwe in 1996-97, before he was ousted by the selectors in favour of Hasan Raza, reputedly just 14 years old himself. Shadab though was placed in a file marked "pending", and with Pakistan building towards the 2003 World Cup, he earned his second chance. Andrew Miller
