No action against Fleming and Cairns
Wisden CricInfo staff - February 7, 2002

MELBOURNE, (AFP)
An International Cricket Council disciplinary hearing has decided to take no action against Chris Cairns and Stephen Fleming following an incident in the first VB Series final at the MCG.

The pair were summoned by match referee Hanumant Singh for the way they confronted Boeta Dippenaar after the South African batsman was given not out after clearly edging the ball to wicketkeeper Adam Parore.

Singh charged Cairns under the players' code of conduct which says players shall not verbally abuse another player and as captain Fleming was charged for not ensuring play was conducted in the spirit of the game.

However, umpires Daryl Harper and Simon Taufel confirmed there was no foul language or intimidation but Singh stressed the need for players to be careful in their body language.
