Fleming and McMillan seek time in middle
Lynn McConnell - 30 December 2002
New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming and out of form batsman Craig McMillan have taken the opportunity for some extra match play by playing in today's round of State Shield matches.
Fleming is playing for Wellington at the Basin Reserve against Central Districts and McMillan is playing for Canterbury against Northern Districts at Taupo.
Both players struggled for runs yesterday in New Zealand's 35-run second One-Day International victory over India at Napier.
Fleming has not been too concerned about his form but has clearly decided he needs more quality time in the middle.
McMillan is more of a concern having been out of touch for much of the latter half of 2002.
The TelstraClear Black Caps for the third match of the National Bank Series will be the same 12 as that which played in the first two matches.
