Changes forced on Canterbury for Wellington match
Lynn McConnell - 8 December 2002
Canterbury's team for their next State Championship match, against Wellington, starting at Rangiora's Dudley Park on Tuesday was named today.
With the selection of Nathan Astle, Craig McMillan and Shane Bond in the TelstraClear Black Caps for the first National Bank Series Test match starting in Wellington on Thursday, changes have been forced.
Chris Cairns, who has played the first two matches in the Championship, is also not available as the result of keyhole surgery he is having on Tuesday. Wade Cornelius is still not fit enough to be considered.
The side is: Gary Stead (captain), Brendon Donkers, Andrew Ellis, Robbie Frew, Peter Fulton, Chris Harris, Gareth Hopkins, Chris Martin, Michael Papps, Shanan Stewart, Paul Wiseman, Warren Wisneski.
