Canterbury MILO Trophy semi-finalists decided 5 December 2002
Canterbury's four semi-finalists for the MILO Trophy have been found. Some close games were required before the positions were filled. As a result of those game, the first semi-final will see Avonhead play Elmwood. Avonhead qualified by beating last season's finalists Oaklands while Elmwood, the defending champions beat Cotswold. Their match will be played at Avonhead School tomorrow, starting at 1.30pm. Amberley and Tai Tapu will play out the second semi-final. Amberley go into their semi-final early next week with some good form behind them, including several scores over 100. They have a strong, all-round side and beat Fernside earlier in the week in their inter-zone final. An outbreak of measles at Sheffield School resulted in them having to default their quarter-final. Tai Tapu have also looked strong, accounting for Springston and Bromley in the knockout phases. The Canterbury final is scheduled for next Friday, December 13 and is set to be a classic town versus country battle. © CricInfo
