Nagamootoo ruled out Wisden CricInfo staff - April 19, 2002
West Indies legspinner MahendraNagamootoo has been ruled out of Friday's second Test against India at the Queen's Park Oval here due to injury. "He has been ruled out of the match because of a hamstring injury," West Indies manager Ricky Skerritt said on Thursday. "He has been replaced with Dinanath Ramnarine, but should be fit for the next match." Nagamootoo, who has taken seven wickets in three Tests, dismissed Sachin Tendulkar for 79 in the drawn first Test in Guyana. "We'll miss him as he has bowled well in the first Test," said West Indies captain Carl Hooper. "He got the vital wicket of Tendulkar and also troubled (Rahul) Dravid early in his innings. He's a good lower-order batsman and a fine fielder." Dravid was India's top-scorer with an unbeaten 144.
