Sehwag targets one-day return
Wisden CricInfo staff - April 11, 2002

Virender Sehwag is confident that he will recover from injury in time to take part in India's one-day series against West Indies, which starts next month. Sehwag sustained a shoulder injury during the recent one-day series against Zimbabwe, and he is currently undergoing intensive treatment. He is hoping that he will be able to prove his fitness to the Indian cricket board in about a fortnight.

"Presently I am undergoing physiotherapy and muscle-strengthening exercises," he told the Hindustan Times. "It will take two weeks for me to go to nets, but if the pain subsides, I will practise and later submit a fitness report to stake a claim for the one-day side.

"It is a big series and I am unlucky to be out of the team due to injury," he went on. He said that it is likely that he will continue his treatement in India, although he would consider going abroad if he felt that would speed up his recovery.
