Sri Lanka recall de Silva for England tour
Wisden CricInfo staff - April 4, 2002

Sri Lanka have recalled their former captain Aravinda de Silva for the forthcoming three-Test series against England. He has missed their last 11 Test matches. de Silva was included in a 15-member squad for the tour of England which begins later this month. His last Test was against England at home in March 2001. During his absence Sri Lanka played 11 Tests - and won nine of them.

The only surprise in the squad is the inclusion of wicketkeeper Prasanna Jayawardene ahead of the more experienced Romesh Kaluwitharana. Jayawardene, 22, made his one and only Test appearance against Pakistan at Kandy two years ago.
