First win for NZ A in Indian tournament Lynn McConnell - 7 September 2001
New Zealand A finally got on the winning side of the scoreboard in the Coromandel King Moin-ud-Dowlah Gold Cup tournament in Hyderabad yesterday. After two games in which they could claim only one point, the first abandoned when a pipe beneath the field burst and the second abandoned before a ball was bowled due to a damp outfield, New Zealand A beat Chemplast in a games reduced to 28-overs. Batting first, New Zealand A scored 184/9 with Lou Vincent continuing his outstanding form with the side by hitting 83 not out. Mark Richardson also scored 31. In reply, Chemplast could only score 139/9 with Kyle Mills taking three for 23. New Zealand A now have four points from their three games. The next match is against a BPL XI tomorrow. © CricInfo
