Barry Shepherd dies Wisden CricInfo staff - September 19, 2001
SYDNEY (Reuters) Shepherd, an aggressive left-handed batsman, played nine Tests for Australia in the early 1960s, scoring 502 runs at an average of 41.83 with a top score of 96 against South Africa. Shepherd also made 87 first-class appearances for Western Australia, including 35 as captain, in the domestic Sheffield Shield competition. When he retired in the mid 1960s, Shepherd began a successful career in administration and went on to serve as a director of the Australian Cricket Board.
